Here we are in the middle of a gorgeous fall, well into the school year, watching our clients fighting the yearly colds and illnesses that seem to grow worse with each passing year. One thing Naturopaths and Allopaths agree on is that prevention is the best course of action. How best to prevent becomes a point of much concern for those of us in Natural Medicine, and never more than when the 'flu shot' is being recommended everywhere you go.
All vaccines bypass the surface immune, the first natural response to an irritant or toxin. The body's normal response is to cough, sweat, vomit or expel a toxin through the bowel with diarrhea, as the immunoglobulins in the mucosa are activated. To inject a toxin as devastating as the flu virus directly into the bloodstream without giving this surface immune a chance to activate an immune response will prove to be deadly later on. More and more research points to vaccines as the underlying cause of allergies, asthma, arthritis, autoimmune disorders such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile diabetes, Hashimotos Thyroiditis, and more.
One lone but honest doctor on one obscure radio show in the wee hours of the morning told the truth about vaccines and flu shots last year, but not until the flu shots ran out, and not (I noticed) on prime time television! He revealed the real need behind the vaccines and flu shots...the need for money. Apparently the pharmaceutical industry doesn't have enough yet. They need to pay for more advertising.
Viruses are constantly shifting and changing, and we can't possibly immunize against every strain. As the immune system becomes weakened with the invasion of one strain in a vaccine it will no longer be able to fight other diseases/strains. The correct answer is to strengthen the immune system with proper nutrition, not weaken it with immunization.

Pat McKay is very clear about the dangers and side effects of immunizing children and pets in Natural Immunity for Pets. Cynthia Cournoyer gives statistical specifics about each epidemic already diminishing before the vaccine was introduced, and how most people who died of the disease got it after their inoculation in What About Immunizations. If you get the mumps or chicken pox you won't die (I didn't) and you will be immune for life. The vaccine, on the other hand, only 'protects' for up to 6 years, and you are immune compromised for life (www.alkalizeforhealth.net is a good reference). You owe it to yourself and your family to research vaccines thoroughly before'rolling up your sleeve'.
Some great immune builders are Immune Stimulator, a mushroom blend with Betaglucans, Seasonal Defense, one of my personal favorites with no Echinacea, Defense Maintenance to keep protecting you all winter, Elderberry Defense for compromised lungs and related issues, and Chewable Antioxidants or Chewable Elderberry Plus for kids (even grown ones!).
If your immune system is already compromised or you know you have an autoimmune disorder, Colostrom is an amphoteric; bringing the immune into balance without the over stimulation of Echinacea or Astragalus.
Remember to keep your body toxin free, use your Probiotics, Enzymes and Fiber for good bowel function.
Eat plenty of organic veggies;
For the Liver: beets, garlic, onion, green leafy, lemon.
For the Kidneys: asparagus, artichoke, green beans.
For the Brain: walnuts, grains, veggies, good fats like Super Omega 3, and plenty of water.
Keep Activated Charcoal on hand for food poisoning, nausea and diarrhea, and everyone should have a bootle of Colloidal Silver in their herb cupboard. This is great to gargle for a sore throat, drops in the eyes, ears, or nose for infection, and is great topically for burns and wounds. I make a spray of it with Lavender, Tea Tree, and Aloe Vera Gel, which seems to work on any skin irritation of any kind.
